The Content Calendar is where your content strategy becomes a publishing plan. Here's how to use it effectively.
Calendar Overview
The calendar view shows all your scheduled content organized by month. Each card represents a child page with its target keyword, status, and assigned date.
Scheduling Content
There are two ways to add content to your calendar:
- 1From Strategy: When you create child pages in the Strategy section, they automatically appear in the Calendar as "Planned" items ready to be scheduled.
- 2Direct Add: Click on any date in the calendar to add a new content item directly with a target date.
Content Status Workflow
Each piece of content moves through a defined workflow:
Keyword identified and scheduled, but writing hasn't started
Content is being written
Draft complete, awaiting editorial review
Content is live on your website
Click on any content card to update its status. The calendar automatically color-codes items by status so you can see your pipeline at a glance.
Editing Calendar Items
Click on any calendar item to open the edit modal where you can:
- Change the scheduled date
- Update the content status
- Add or edit notes
- Assign to team members (Pro feature)
Generating Content Briefs
From the calendar, you can navigate to the Briefs section to generate detailed content briefs for any scheduled item. Briefs include:
- Target keyword and search intent
- Suggested word count
- Related keywords to include
- Internal linking suggestions
